UPDATE: wildfire spotted near Lund this afternoon now held

A new wildfire spotted east of Lund on the mainland coast is now under control.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, it’s approximately two hectares and is now being held. It was out of control earlier this afternoon. The map places it east of Crowther Road, north of Larson’s Landing.

The smoke is visible from Campbell River.

The BC Wildfire Service says the fire was likely human-caused.
