Police are looking for a man wanted for first-degree murder in Perth, Ontario, who is now believed to be hiding out in the BC wilderness.
BC RCMP published a statement today in conjunction with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Specifically, they are looking for 34-year-old Joseph Madore, who they believe is in BC “travelling through or camping in remote backcountry areas.”
Madore and 28-year-old Brayton Kennedy, both from Ottawa, are wanted for first-degree murder in connection with a homicide in Perth, Ontario.
Police say that on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers from the OPP’s Lanark County Detachment responded to Last Duel Park, where one person was located with life-threatening injuries. As a result of the ongoing investigation, arrest warrants have been updated for Madore and Kennedy, who are now wanted for first degree murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.
While Madore is believed to be somewhere in the BC backcountry, Kennedy may be in New Brunswick.
