Northern Sea Wolf repairs completed ahead of schedule

By Grant Warkentin

Repairs to the Northern Sea Wolf have been completed ahead of schedule, and the ferry connecting central coast communities with Port Hardy will be back in service starting August 29.

A service notice from BC Ferries today (August 26) states that the mechanical issue with the boat’s stern tube shaft seal has been fixed, and alternative services planned into September will no longer be required. The vessel will be back on the schedule on Saturday, starting with the 7:30 am route from Bear Cove (Port Hardy) to Bella Coola. The revised schedule is below.

Vehicle-only tug and barge and water taxi alternate services and schedules will continue until the end of Friday.

BC Ferries will be contacting customers with bookings that are affected by the new schedule (below).
