Campbell River is getting a special gift for Canada Day this year, Canadian rock icons Trooper will be performing a free concert for the entire town.
“Kicking off the season on Canada Day this year, alongside the Canada Day Committee and welcoming Trooper to the stage, is a great way to launch a summer full of activity and celebrate everything that makes downtown Campbell River such a vibrant place to be,” said Mayor Kermit Dahl in a statement today.
Trooper’s performance will mark the start of this year’s CR Live Streets concert series, a free, all-ages street event series with music, art, and positive energy in the downtown core on Wednesday nights during the summer.
“From classic rock, reggae grooves and country twang, to blues, club beats, and a street fest, CR Live Streets invites everyone to dance in the street, connect with neighbours, and enjoy summer evenings in the heart of downtown,” says the city’s statement and schedule for this year’s program.
Dahl says he’s proud of how the program has evolved.
“CR Live Streets has become one of the signature ways our community comes together each summer,” he said. “It’s free, welcoming, and family‑friendly, and it turns downtown into a place to connect — with great music, local experiences, and one another.”
