Funding available for businesses to beautify local storefronts

The city has approved three grants to help local businesses increase their curb appeal.

This week council approved in principle nearly $35,000 for business associations to use to make their public spaces more appealing for shoppers and tourists.

“Improvements will include decorative lighting, murals, flowers and flower pots, signage, litter abatement, and event programming,” says a statement from the city.

The Campbellton Neighbourhood Association and the Willow Point Business Improvement Association will each receive $10,000 in matching funds. The Downtown Business Improvement Association will receive just under $15,000.

The grants are intended to help with beautification initiatives, public art, and programs in public spaces.

Local businesses can reach out to the association in their region for more information.
