The annual cleanup for boat launches in Willow Point starts tomorrow.
The city issued a statement confirming the Ken Forde Boat Ramp will have seasonal debris cleaned out on Tuesday. The Big Rock Boat Ramp will be cleaned out from Wednesday, April 22 until Friday, April 24.
“The boat ramp may be partially or fully closed at times while this work is completed, for public safety. The city encourages people to use Ken Forde Boat Ramp during this time,” says the statement.
Every winter the boat launches get plugged up with sediment and driftwood that needs to be cleared out in spring. The city says all work will follow the conditions set by Fisheries and Oceans Canada to protect coastal habitat.
The city is thanking ramp users for their patience while the clean-up work happens this week.
